• Welcome to our Blog!

We are Mike + Heather Krakora, two best friends that get to work, play and laugh together everyday. How lucky is that? We live in Madison, Wisconsin with our two vivacious boys, two very fluffy dogs and a bullfrog named Bob. We absolutely love what we do – photographing people at such pivotal points in their lives is a huge honor.

Our blog is where we will post all of the recent happenings in our lives and in the lives of our clients. So don't be shy, leave a comment.  We love comments, they make us smile.  :o)

happy friday! :: madison family portrait photographer

Since it is a bit gloomy and rainy today, I thought I’d brighten up the day with a couple of shots from a recent family session that we did at Olbrich Gardens.

I found this today…
While we try to teach our children all about life,
Our children teach us what life is all about.
~Angela Schwindt

We are very much looking forward to a weekend of family time and learning from our children.:)

beth + brett :: married {madison wi wedding photography}

Beth and Brett first got our name from one of our favorite couples, Katie and Doug! We then met with them a second time when they came through a show put on by the Madison Wedding Guild. We knew from the start that they were going to be a super fun couple and have an amazing wedding. They were not short of laughter or tears through out the day.

Father Pat gave a great homily. Dare I say it was one of the best Catholic ceremonies that we have even been to? It included the singing of Beth’s famous camping song to the tune of “Camp Town Races” – everyone even sang along. It was priceless.:)
Of course Macy had to join in on the fun. She was so excited to see her Mom and Dad.
One of the things I love about shooting with Mike is that we can shoot the same thing at the same time and yet get totally different images.
Unless you have been under a rock this summer and hadn’t noticed, its been a bit hot. Beth + Brett put this grate to good use.
You never now what you can encounter while walking through the Art Fair on the Square. Thanks Chocolate Shoppe for the awesome ice cream!

Such a sweet Bro-mance.;) Can’t you just feel the love?

And the party. Yes, the party. It raged on and on to music provided from Austin from Jukebox Bandstand

My favorite shot from the evening. I think someone was a bit tired and ready for his honeymoon.

And last but not least, some details from the day. I love the black, white and red combination!

anabel + david :: married :: boise ID destination wedding photographer

If there is one thing I know, its that life is filled with lots of twists and turns. Over a year ago, Anabel contacted us to photograph her wedding that she was planning to have on Lake Wisconsin. But, as I have said, life keeps us on our toes and before we knew it, we were asked if we would mind shooting her and David’s wedding in Boise, where they live. We love the chance to document a “destination” wedding. Not really a destination for Anabel and David, but one for us. The fun part for me was that I lived in Boise for a little bit as a kid and my Mom grew up there. We still have quite a bit of family there as well. It still blows my mind that the temps can be 85 and feel like 80 instead of like here with all of the humidity. But what we don’t have here is the intense sun.

When I arrived at Anabel + David’s home, this sweet note was sitting on their table. With love, it is really the small gestures, the little things. Their day was filled with many of these small gestures and wonderful moments of tenderness. We were so honored to bare witness to their love.

Laughter…there was so much laughter!
Anabel gave us some spots to check out. Mike + I fell in love with this wall. How awesome is this? Almost as awesome as the wedding party. I could have posted so many more images of everyone, but I am really trying to keep our wedding blog posts below 25 image.;)
Their ceremony and reception was held at a friend of Anabel’s home in the foothills of Boise. Anabel was actually the flower girl at their wedding and now, the husband was preforming the ceremony for Anabel+ David.
The view was unlike anything. Mike got on the roof to get this shot. Such a brave man.;)
One of my favorite images from the day. Just a simple moment during the toasts.

Light unlike what you find in Wisconsin, that is for sure. (These next two shots are straight out of camera with minor contrast adjustments. It was like liquid honey.)
I couldn’t not post this!

***Just for fun***
There was a Murphy bed outside. You could never have one of those out here. Too many mosquitos!

Anda - Seriously?! I am DYING over here. LOVE the ceremony shots, the details, the dinner shots. Gorgeous light and compositions and everything. Thank you for raising the bar so high in Wisconsin and the Midwest. I continuously admire you.

A Marriage Proposal :: milwaukee and madison wedding photographers

I’ve been waiting so long for this post!  When James contacted Mike about photographing him and his son, he also mentioned that he wanted to possibly include his girlfriend Tammy and her son in the shoot as well. Then he added, I will be proposing soon. Mike’s comment, “Why not photograph that too?!?!”

It is so amazing to be a part of such a momentous moment in peoples lives.  I have to be honest in saying that the tears were flowing while I edited and worked on this session.;)

Congratulations James + Tammy! Thank you so much for including us at such an important time in your lives.

hoops! :: father and son portrait session

We got a call a while ago from James asking if Mike would be into photographing him and his son, Ben playing basketball and to get some cool edgy shots.  James is Ben’s basketball coach as well as an avid player himself. Funny side note:  James had forgotten the basketballs for the shoot and had to scramble to find a store on the way. Now is has two additional ones to go along with the 20+ that he already had in his garage. LOL!:)

This last shot was all Ben’s idea. He really wanted a shot of the two of them back to back with their arms crossed.

There was an additional shoot after this with a surprise marriage proposal. I can’t wait to post those tomorrow!
