• a little bit about us

Hi! We are Mike + Heather, two best friends who got married over 12 years ago and have been chasing our dreams all the while. We get to work, play, tease each other and laugh together every single day. Pretty lucky, huh? We have two wonderful, bright and inspiring boys and two very fluffy dogs. We always dreamed of working together and consider ourselves blessed to be creating art everyday while giving pieces of ourselves to amazing people. We know its been a good day when our cheeks hurt from smiling so much. :)

Our blog is the place where we will highlight some of our favorite images from recent sessions and events, as well as an occasional tid-bit from our own lives.

The Mack Family :: a day in the life portrait session

Yesterday we celebrated our older son’s 10th birthday. What a mind boggling concept that we have a child that is a decade old. (He was the one to point this out to us, by the way.) At this moment, I am really wishing that we had a Day in the Life session of our own, to capture just the simple acts that we make each day as a family. I guess the up and coming New Year is making me feel a bit nostalgic.

Here are a few still images from a Day in the Life Fusion video session that we did with the Mack family. This was a session that we donated to the Madison Children’s Museum Opening Gala last year. Tiffany wanted to wait until their new baby was born. In respect to the family’s privacy, we have kept their video password protected.

Mel + Jason + Alexis + Ali :: madison family photographer

You really can’t get any more honest than these family portraits. They day I photographed Mel and her family, it turned out that Ali had a double ear infection.Despite that, I love how the tenuous relationship (for that day anyways) between Ali and Alexis was captured.

martina :: class of 2012 senior portraits

As the boys are getting ready for a serious Nerf battle in the basement, I am still playing catch up with our senior portrait blog posts. I love the sheer joy in Martina’s face as she is tossing the grass seeds in the air.

To say that I love photographing dogs is a severe understatement. How could you not love dogs? Seriously. Nicco is no exception. We were thrilled when Jo Dee called us to schedule her session with her pug, Nicco. Although I consider myself a “large dog person,” I keep finding myself drawn to small dogs as well. I guess that makes me an all around fan of dogs.:)Nicco is so full of personality and gusto. We had a ton of fun the morning of their shoot.

Abbie + Brian + Eva + Charlie :: portraits of a family in madison wi

We hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday! We had a great Christmas and have been enjoying some R+R in between breaks of insanity.:)I am hoping to be posting every morning for the rest of the week. Here are a few of my favorites from a session that I did. I absolutely love it when past couples come to see us! I love it even more when they bring their squishy little girl and their funny side-kick-of-a-dog! I am sooo looking forward to watching little Eva grow.
